Mahama to Name Four More Deputy Ministers

President John Dramani Mahama will this week nominate four additional deputy Ministers to augment his government.
It will be the last batch of the full complement of Ministers in his administration.
Speaking at the swearing-in of 13 deputy Ministers and a Minister of state on March 12, 2025, at the Jubilee House, he said the list will be submitted to Parliament.
“The swearing-in of this batch of 13 deputy Ministers and one Minister of state brings us closer to achieving a full complement of Ministers. This week, I will submit a final list of four deputy Ministers to achieve the full complement of 60 Ministers that we promised.”
The president still holds onto his commitment to operating the leanest government in the country’s history.
“From the outset of this administration, I gave a solemn assurance that I will fulfil my promise to create a lean efficient, cost-effective performance-driven government. I am committed to reducing the size of government from the largest ever in the history of our country to the smallest ever while guaranteeing that every Ministry or agency critical to national progress receives the necessary support to be able to fulfil its objectives.”
