Mahama and Lukashenko Seal New Cooperation Deals

President John Dramani Mahama and Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko have sealed three new cooperation deals at the Belarusian Presidential Palace today, June 8, 2026.
The agreements, signed after bilateral talks under full military honours, are designed to deepen Ghana-Belarus relations and expand economic opportunities in key sectors.
The first MoU established a Joint Commission for Cooperation in Trade and Economic Affairs to provide a structured platform for policy dialogue and trade facilitation.
The second enhances collaboration between the Chambers of Commerce of both countries to drive private sector partnerships, investment, and business exchanges.
Meanwhile, the third focuses on agriculture, targeting technology transfer, agro-processing, and food security.
The Minister for Foreign Affairs, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, Ghana’s Ambassador to the Russian Federation, Jehu Appiah, and Minister for Food and Agriculture Eric Opoku signed on behalf of Ghana.
