Madina MP: We’ll Rather Die Fighting The E-levy

The Member of Parliament for Madina Constituency, Francis Xavier Sosu has relayed his party’s aggression at stopping the passage of the E-levy at all cost, even if it will cost their lives.

This was in response to a publication indicating that the National Democratic Congress (NDC) MPs were deferring medical appointments outside the country due to the E-levy before parliament.

“Sick NDC MPs refusing to travel for medical care – Afenyo-Markin”, a screenshot of the headline of the publication posted by the Madina MP read.

Describing the E-levy as “senseless, insensitive, wicked and regressive”, Sosu emphasised that his party will not allow the government to pass the policy.

“The 137 NDC MPs will rather die fighting the senseless, insensitive, and regressive E-levy than to travel and allow your government to pass the wicked E-levy. There can be no progress or achievement without sacrifice. We are ready to die for Ghana”, he captioned the post.

This comes ahead of a planned demonstration against the E-levy titled “Yentua” which takes place on Thursday, February 10, the same day the NPP-led government had scheduled a town hall meeting in the Northern Region.
