Govt is Reviewing 2025 WASCCE Results- Education Minister.

The Minister for Education, Haruna Iddrisu, has disclosed that the government is scrutinising the results of the 2025 West Africa School Certificate Examination (WASSCE).

Speaking at an event attended by President John Dramani Mahama, he said the government will comment on the outcome when necessary.

“We are currently reviewing the examiner’s report on the WASSCE, and as to when it’s appropriate to respond, we will do so appropriately.”

He said this while condemning a section of public commentary that seeks to lay blame for the poor performance of candidates on the government.

“It is only in Ghana that when students do well in exams, the students are praised but when they don’t do well, the Minister and government are blamed. Instead of focusing on what caused the change, we are interested in how we fell.”

That notwithstanding, he affirmed the government’s commitment to the provision of quality education under the leadership of President Mahama.

The results released over the weekend showed that a total of 131,097 candidates scored below C6 in English, 429,076 scored below C6 in Mathematics, 382,412 scored below C6 in Integrated Science, and 445,265 scored below C6 in Social Studies.
