Kotoko Statement: Club Assures Fans of New Coach Amid Poor Form

Asante Kotoko have moved to calm growing concerns among supporters following the club’s recent poor run of results, assuring that steps are being taken to appoint a substantive head coach.
In an official statement released by the club, management acknowledged the frustrations of fans regarding the absence of a permanent coach and the team’s recent performances. The statement noted that the expectations that come with representing Kotoko are fully understood, while apologizing for the disappointing results in recent matches.
The Porcupine Warriors parted ways with Karim Zito earlier in the season, with assistant coach Prince Yaw Owusu taking charge on an interim basis until the end of the campaign. However, results have failed to improve significantly, with Owusu overseeing eight matches, recording two wins, two draws and four defeats, including a heavy 4-0 loss to Medeama SC in their most recent outing.
Kotoko’s board emphasized that efforts are underway to secure a competent head coach whose philosophy aligns with the club’s long-term ambitions. They also urged supporters to remain patient as they take time to identify the right candidate to lead the team forward.
The statement further assured fans that decisive steps are being taken to restore the club to its expected standards, while calling for continued support and loyalty for the remainder of the season.
