KNUST Investigates Student’s Attempted Suicide

The Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) has begun an investigation into an attempted suicide by a second-year medical student of the school.

The incident happened on Tuesday evening at the Brunei Complex.

His attempt to jump off the balcony of his hostel was foiled by his friends who pulled him up, a viral video showed.

A Citi News report citing the Public Relations Officer of the KNUST, Dr Daniel Norris Bekoe, said he is in a stable condition and receiving treatment.

He also revealed investigations are ongoing to unravel the cause of his attempt.

“For now, he is stable and investigations are ongoing to find out the cause of his attempted suicide and the various support systems that we can afford him,” he is quoted as saying by Citi News.

He is also said to be undergoing counselling.
