Govt Releases ¢8.9m Feeding Grant for Special Needs Schools

The government of Ghana has released ¢8,989, 866 as the feeding grant for special needs schools across the country.

The Ghana Education Service (GES) confirmed the payment in a statement on June 25, 2025.

“This covers the feeding grant of all learners,” it said, adding that it demonstrates the government’s commitment to inclusive education and the wellbeing of learners with special needs.

Commending the government for prioritizing the Special Needs students, the Service appreciated the dedication, support and resilience of heads, staff and learners of such institutions.

“The GES remains committed to collaborating with all stakeholders to ensure equitable and quality education for every learner, regardless of their ability.”
