Joseph Aidoo Out Of Ghana Squad For USA Clash

Celta Vigo’s Center-back, Joseph Aidoo will miss the highly anticipated showdown between Ghana and the United States of America (USA), the Ghana Football Association (GFA) has announced.

The 28-year-old is due to fly back to Spain for immediate treatment of an ankle tendon injury.

He picked up the injury on Saturday during Ghana’s first international friendly against Mexico at the Bank of America stadium.

The former Inter Allies player was replaced by Alidu Seidu 27 minutes into the game over an ankle injury.

The FA said further examination by experts revealed he had “sustained an ankle tendon injury and would require immediate treatment to return to action”.

Meanwhile, Medeama SC’s Abdul Hamidu Fatawu has joined the Black Stars at the team’s camping base in Nashville, Tennessee for the clash against the United States of America on Tuesday, October 17, 2023.

He joins the team after a tour with his Club to the US. He is scheduled to train with the team on Monday ahead of the game the following day.

Ghana suffered a 2:0 defeat at the hands of Mexico on Saturday, October 14. The Black Stars were punished with the two goals after half-time and failed to reduce the deficit or level up.

They will lock horns with the US at the GEODIS Park – Nashville, Tennessee on Tuesday, October 17, 2023.
