3 Armed Robbers Jailed 75 Years

Three armed robbers have been handed a cumulative sentence of 75 years in jail with hard Labour after being found guilty of robbery and conspiracy to commit robbery.

The sentence was delivered by the Offinso Circuit Court, presided over by His Honour Paul Oduro Esq. on September 26, 2025, after the accused persons pleaded guilty to the charges.

The convicts include Nasiu Abdul-Malik, 22 years, Solomon Kwaku Annor Clinton, 23 years and Hakeem Ibrahim, 20 years.

They were each given 25 years.

The convicts have since been transferred to the Kumasi Central Prisons to begin serving their custodial sentences.

Robbery
According to the police, the three, armed with an axe, a machete, and a pair of scissors, attacked a DAF driver and his mates after their truck broke down at Asempaneye while transporting bags of fertiliser from Tema to Wa.

This was around 1:30 AM on September 23, 2025.

They robbed them of a Samsung A24 Ultra smartphone, valued at GEC 14,000.00; an Itel smartphone, valued at GHC400.00; an Itel keypad phone valued at GHC 100.00; a black backpack and a red and blue bag, both containing personal effects, and Cash amounting to GHC 140.00.

“With the swift intervention of the youth of Asempaneye, all three suspects were arrested the same day. The stolen items were retrieved from them, and during police investigations, they admitted to committing the crime.”
