Inaki Header Wins Qualifier Against Madagascar

A late header from Athletic Bilbao forward Inaki Williams qualified for not just his first goal in the Black Stars jersey but as well gave the hosts the much needed win in their first World Cup qualifier.

The match was heading goalless after efforts from both sides got thwarted within the 90 minutes at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi on November 17.

However, Inaki found the net at injury time to claim all three points for the Black Stars after failing at it in 11 games since switching nationality.

Ahead of the match, the head coach of the Black Stars, Chris Hughton said he had devised a strategy to bring out the goals from Inaki.

He told the press, “I am working on the formula to get Inaki Williams scoring for the Black Stars soon.”

Hughton started Inaki, a usual left winger, at the front right together with Antoine Semenyo and Jordan Ayew.
