Asantehemaa’s Presence Illuminates Eswatini King’s Welcome Durbar

With her gracious and prestigious presence, the Queen of the Asante Kingdom, Nana Konadu Yiadom III, joined the welcome durbar for King Mswati III.

Draped in splendour and borne in a royal palanquin, Her Majesty’s procession proceeded from her Palace to the durbar grounds.

Responding to the rhythmic tune of the traditional drums that followed the Asantehemaa’s procession, Her Majesty made her way to the Dwabrem grounds where she paid homage to her traditional son, the Asantehene.

Lady Julia and two of the King’s children followed to pay homage to the King as he sat in state for the event.

The family of the Occupant of the Golden Stool then proceeded to pay homage to the guest of honour.

Otumfuo Osei Tutu II held the grand durbar to welcome the King of the Eswatini Kingdom, His Majesty Mswati III at the Manhyia Palace.

The event was used to officially welcome the absolute Monarch to the Asante Kingdom in Ghana.

The visit reciprocates the Asantehene’s 2015 visit to the Southern African country.

King Mswati is in Ghana with his wife, government officials and members of the royal family of Eswatini.
