Gyakye Quayson to be Sworn in as Assin North MP Today – Speaker of Parliament

The Speaker of Parliament, Alban S.K. Bagbin, has announced that James Gyakye Quayson will be officially sworn in as the Member of Parliament for Assin North today. The announcement was made earlier this morning.

Parliament resumes its sitting today after an interruption last Tuesday, which was caused by a lack of quorum due to many MPs from both the Majority and Minority sides traveling to the Assin North Constituency in the Central Region for the by-election campaign and monitoring.

Before heading to Parliament for the swearing-in ceremony, Gyakye Quayson will attend his criminal trial in court this morning.

The Speaker of Parliament made this announcement during his visit to the office of Graphic Communications Group Limited (GCGL) to meet with the management and editorial staff. The purpose of the Speaker’s visit was to strengthen Parliament-Media Relations and foster collaboration between the two entities.

This visit marks the Speaker’s first official engagement with a media organization since assuming the position of Speaker of Parliament. He was accompanied by staff members from his office during the visit.
