GRA Portrays Financial App PEPSI As Masquerade

The Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) has cautioned the public against mistaking “PEPSI” as an official tax payment platform.

In a communiqué, the GRA dissociated itself from the said financial app.

“The Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) has received several complaints from sections of the taxpaying public who are being requested to pay taxes, especially income tax, on a financial app known as PEPSI.”

It noted that the Authority does not contract third-party tax collection.

“All taxpayers are also to note that GRA has not contracted any third party to collect taxes on its behalf. This is a deliberate attempt to defraud taxpayers and customers.”

It also directed all taxpayers to use the GRA’S TAXPAYERS PORTAL which is directly linked to the GHANA.GOV PORTAL. Any of these apps can be downloaded for the same purpose, it stated.

While encouraging the public to report incidents of these fraudulent acts to the Police, the GRA warned, that “anyone who makes tax payment via PEPSI does so at their own risk. All should therefore take note and be guided accordingly.”
