Ghana Gas CEO Propagates Ghana’s Energy Investment Potentials In Canada

The Chief Executive Officer of Ghana National Gas Limited Company (Ghana Gas), Ms Judith Adjobah Blay, has propagated Ghana’s growing opportunities in the natural gas sector at the ongoing Global Energy Show in Calgary, Canada.

Speaking at the international energy conference, Ms Judith highlighted the Company’s significant contribution to Ghana’s energy security and economic development.

She noted that Ghana Gas currently supplies about 84% of the fuel used by thermal power plants, helping the country save an estimated US$1.3 billion annually in fuel costs, with an additional US$60 million in savings through LPG supply.

Ms Judith also emphasised Ghana Gas’ role in supporting regional energy integration through its partnership with the West African Gas Pipeline, which has strengthened gas transmission across the region and positioned Ghana as a key player in the West African gas market.

Looking to the future, she announced several strategic projects aimed at expanding the country’s gas infrastructure, including a Second Gas Processing Plant (GPP II), a 300-kilometre onshore gas transmission pipeline, and the Pentane Monetisation Project, which is expected to reduce hydrocarbon flaring and support the Company’s environmental sustainability goals.

She further described Ghana as an attractive destination for long-term energy investments, citing the country’s stable investment climate, strong legal framework, and strategic location.
