Gabby Otchere Darko, a leading member of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) believes Ghana must commend the Akufo-Addo-led government, particularly the Ministry of Finance headed by Ken Ofori Atta.
According to him, the Ministry’s handling of the country’s economy in these most challenging times is commendable.
“Despite slump in revenues, bills are being paid, including salaries, roads being fixed, & money found for programmes like YouStart”, he said.
He was reacting to a tweet by the Ministry of Finance announcing a standardised loan product for beneficiaries of the YouStart programme.
“The commercial Programme under YouStart will offer a standardized loan product between GHS100,000 and GHS500,000.00 from PFIs to cover working capital requirements, business expansion needs and the purchase of equipment or machinery by Programme beneficiaries”, the tweet from the Ministry read.
A section of the Ghanaian populace has on different occasions called for the dismissal of the Finance Minister over the mismanagement of public funds.
