Fuel Prices Go Up

The prices of petroleum products have witnessed an increase at various pumps in the country in the first pricing window of August 2023.

Goil posted a 55 pesewas increase in a litre of petrol and a 50 pesewas increase in a litre of diesel on Tuesday.

The Company is selling petrol at GHC 12.95 from GHC 12.40 per litre and diesel at GHC 12.95 from GHC 12.45 per litre.

The increase which was forecasted by the Chamber of Petroleum Consumers (COPEC) is said to be the effect of an increase in the price of crude oil on the international market.

According to COPEC crude has increased by 10.53 percent from the mean price of $75.85 per barrel to $83.84 per barrel.

The projection by COPEC as reported by CitiNews was higher compared to the figures put out by Goil.
