Five Young Porcupines Shine in Asante Kotoko’s 2-0 win Over Eleven Wonders

Five players from Asante Kotoko’s U-20 side, the Young Porcupines, were given the platform to shine as the Reds defeated Eleven Wonders 2-0 in Matchday 32 of the Ghana Premier League at the Baba Yara Stadium.
The victory brought huge relief to Kotoko fans, as it ended a disappointing four-game winless run and injected fresh belief into the team’s campaign.
Bismark Ofori, Lawson Kyei, Takyi Addison, Anthony Kofi Duah and Abu Adams all featured prominently in the match, delivering impressive performances that highlighted the rich talent coming through the club’s youth system.
Remarkably, two of these young stars scored the goals that secured the important three points. Lawson Kyei broke the deadlock in the 36th minute with a well-taken strike, while Anthony Kofi Duah added the second goal in the 65th minute to put the game beyond Eleven Wonders.
Lawson Kyei and Abu Adams earned starting berths, while Takyi Addison, Bismark Ofori and Anthony Kofi Duah were introduced as substitutes and all contributed positively when called upon.
The exciting display by the quintet has been described as a massive boost for Asante Kotoko. Many expect several of these talented youngsters to break into the senior team on a permanent basis from next season, potentially ushering in a new era at the club.
Coach Mohammed Hamza Obeng and his technical team have earned praise for showing confidence in the young players and successfully integrating them into the first team. Their bold approach paid dividends on the day and could shape the future direction of the Porcupines.
