Speed Ramps Finally Fixed Along Abrepo-Barekese Road

The government through the Urban Roads Department (URD) has finally fixed speed ramps which students and residents around the area had been crying over in the past years.

Urban roads has constructed speed ramps from Abrepo junction to Ampabame to reduce road accidents.

This comes on back demands by students of Islamic Senior High School (SHS) and residents along the road for ramps to be fixed.

Several accidents have been recorded along the road due to the lack of these speed ramps, it is reported.

It will be recalled that students of Islamic SHS on June 13th 2022, embarked on a massive demonstration over the frequent knockdowns of their colleagues and teachers on the road.

Following this, the IGP, Dr George Akufo Dampare, assured the students and residents that the ramps will be fixed during his visit to the school in June.

Immediately after that, anchor ropes were laid in front of the school to serve as temporary speed ramps.

Seven months down the line, permanent ramps have been developed along the road.

Residents of Abrepo junction expressed joy over the development and said this will reduce accidents along the road.
