EAI Condemns GHANASCO Toilet Dormitory

Educate Africa Institute (EAI) has unequivocally condemned the unfortunate incident at the Ghana Senior High School (GHANASCO), Tamale in the Northern Region.

This follows a move by the authorities to convert the school’s toilet facility into a dormitory for some students due to inadequate accommodation for students admitted into the school.

A video of the situation has since gone viral on both social, and traditional media, with scores of Ghanaians condemning the incident and calling for the heads of appropriate authorities.

Speaking on Opemsuo Dawuro, Executive Director of the EAI, Mr. William Boadi, described the situation as unfortunate, sad and a shame for the country. He said it is unacceptable for the nation to subject its future leaders to such conditions.

William Boadi condemned the suspension of the Headmaster and Senior House Master by the Ghana Education Service (GES). He said the leadership of the GES should be suspended for failing to do their work effectively instead of the school authorities.
