Veep Sanctions Immediate Response to Volta Lake Accident That Claimed 15 Lives

The Vice President of Ghana, HE Prof Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, has sanctioned an immediate response to the Volta Lake accident that claimed 15 lives, including 11 children.
The accident occurred at Kete Krachi in the Oti Region.
“Her Excellency has directed the Minister for Transport to oversee an immediate response, conducting thorough investigations and taking urgent steps to prevent a recurrence,” the Press Secretary of the veep announced on Tuesday.
According to the Ghana Maritime Authority, 15 people died in the accident after their overloaded boat capsized on Saturday, October 11.
While 11 were children aged 2 to 14 years, four were confirmed to be adults in the accident that happened near Kete Krachi.
