CAF Cup: Dreams FC Play Stade Malian In Quarterfinals

Ghana’s remaining hope in the CAF Confederations Cup, Dreams FC will face Stade Malien in the next round of the competition.

It follows a draw conducted in Cairo in Egypt on Tuesday, March 12 2024.

Dreams are the first Ghana Premier League club to reach the knockout round of the CAF Confederations Cup since Asante Kotoko and Hearts of Oak in 2004.

After progressing from the group stage on top, Coach Karim Zito’s side are expected to continue their impressive form at the continent level when they face Malian sides in the first leg on March 31 and on April 7 in the second leg.

During the draw today, all eight clubs {including defending Champions USM Alger, Dreams FC, Egyptian side Modern Future, Rivers United, RS Berkane from Morocco, Stade Malien from Mali, Abu Salem from Libya and Zamalek from Egypt} realized their fate.

Modern Future will face Zamalek while Abu Salim will lock horns with Renaissance Berkane and Rivers Utd against USM Alger.

Out of the eight, four are previous champions who will be seeking to leverage their past glory for many more, while, Rivers United, Dreams FC, Abu Salem and Modern Future will be looking forward to writing history.
