Atwima Agogo Residents Bemoan Devastated Road Conditions

Residents of Atwima Agogo in the Atwima Nwabiagya South Municipality in the Ashanti Region have expressed their deep dissatisfaction with the state of the roads in their community. The road network has been severely affected, especially during and after heavy rainfalls, causing significant distress among the residents.

According to some of the passengers, the road network became worse during and after heavy downpours.

One resident shared their frustration with Opemsuo Reporter, Nana Adeamuoduro Kwabena Adjei, saying, “The potholes on the road are getting bigger and deeper, making it extremely uncomfortable for us to travel. It feels like a never-ending battle.”

Another resident added, “We are pleading with the government to urgently address the deplorable condition of our roads. It’s affecting our daily lives and posing risks to our safety.”

Trotro drivers in the area have also voiced their grievances regarding the bad state of the roads in Atwima Agogo and its environs. They emphasized the toll it takes on their vehicles and their daily routines.

“As trotro drivers, we spend a significant amount of money on vehicle maintenance due to the poor road conditions. It’s a constant struggle for us,” said one driver.

They called on the government to prioritize the rehabilitation and improvement of the road infrastructure to alleviate their difficulties.

The residents and trotro drivers are eagerly anticipating government intervention to bring much-needed facelifts to the roads. They believe that investing in the road infrastructure will not only enhance transportation but also contribute to the overall development and well-being of the community.
