A/R: Four Drug Peddlers at Ashtown Nabbed

The internal Security Task Force of the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) has apprehended four drug peddlers who ply their activities within the metropolis.

They are said to operate behind the Ashtown Post Office.

They were arrested on Monday, March 16, 2026, in a crackdown and handed over to the Kumasi Central Police station for further investigations.

Items retrieved during the operation included quantities of substances suspected to be Indian hemp, a locally manufactured pistol, packs of cigarettes, hard drugs, boxes of “Mashallah” (Ataya), cash, and other materials believed to be harmful.

“KMA reiterates its commitment to maintaining law, order, and public safety, and urges residents to support ongoing efforts by reporting suspicious activities and cooperating with authorities to keep the metropolis safe,” it said in a statement.
