Arresting Black Market Forex Dealers Is Not The Way To Go-Tomi Imihere

Financial Analyst and Journalist Tomi Imihere has condemned the actions of the Bank Of Ghana and the Police for arresting Black Market forex dealers and described it as unsustainable.

BoG and the Police arrested 76 black market forex dealers in Accra claiming they are part of the reasons the cedi keeps depreciating.

Tomi Imihere speaking on Citi TV said, the government and BoG should rather look for more sustainable and permanent solutions to solve forex problems in Ghana.

He suggested that the BoG should ease the restrictions on the formal market, especially at the retail end, and also liberalise the formal market which is represented by forex bureaus.
