Antoine Semenyo Named on Premier League Player of the Season Shortlist

Ghanaian forward Antoine Semenyo has been officially named on the shortlist for the 2025/26 Premier League Player of the Season award.

The 26-year-old has enjoyed the best season of his career, starting the campaign with Bournemouth before completing a high-profile move to Manchester City in January, where he has continued to shine brightly.

Semenyo added to his impressive tally by scoring in Manchester City’s 3-0 victory over Crystal Palace last night, taking his Premier League statistics for the season to 16 goals and 4 assists for a total of 20 goal involvements. He currently sits as the third highest scorer in the league.

Other notable nominees on the shortlist include Erling Haaland, Bruno Fernandes, Gabriel, Morgan Gibbs-White, David Raya, Declan Rice, and Igor Thiago.

Semenyo’s outstanding performances have not gone unnoticed back home, with many expecting the in-form striker to earn a place in the Black Stars squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup as Carlos Queiroz looks to assemble his strongest team for the tournament in North America.

This nomination represents a major milestone in Semenyo’s career and further cements his status as one of the most exciting Ghanaian talents in European football.
