Manager Erik Ten Hag says forward Anthony dos Santos is a probable choice for selection for Tuesday’s game against Galatasaray.
According to English Premier League (EPL) side Manchester United, Anthony who had been out of the camp for weeks had his first training on Sunday.
He is expected to have his next training on Monday, October 2, 2023.
United’s website cites the Dutch football manager as saying, “Antony will be in consideration” at a press conference at Carrington.
“Yesterday was his first time in team training. We have a final training [session] and then we’ll make a decision. But he will be in consideration, yeah. I think the team news is probably [just that] Antony dos Santos can return.”
The Red Devils will be hosting Turkish side Galatasaray in their next UEFA Group Match.
The forward was asked to delay his return to Old Trafford earlier in September as players who weren’t participating in international matches were reporting to camp on September 11 due to allegations of assault by multiple women including his former girlfriend Gabriela Cavalin.
Ahead of that Anthony was dropped from Brazil squad for international duties for the same reason.
Rayssa de Freitas- one of his accusers- claims she required hospital treatment after being assaulted by Antony and a woman in May 2022.
The last by the name Ingrid Lana also claims she was compelled by Antony to have sex while on a business trip to England in 2022. According to her, the 23-year-old invited her to his house and pushed her against a wall which led to her banging her head.
The player has denied all the allegations.
