Amended Road Traffic Regulations to Rein in Pragya Riders – Amoakohene Assures Nananom

The Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr Frank Amoakohene, has assured traditional authorities of stringent control measures for pragya riders in the amended road traffic regulations.

According to him, the amended regulations make provisions that will rein in the conduct of riders on the road.

He believes the regulations before Parliament would serve as a panacea to concerns about accidents caused by Pragya riders.

These remarks were in response to concerns raised by Nananom about misconduct by these riders in town.

Nananom observed that most of the accidents recorded at the Accident and Emergency Centre of Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) result from irresponsible road behaviour by the riders.

They thus called for action to regulate their behaviour.

The Minister appeared before Nananom on June 11, 2026, at the invitation of Nana Boakye Yam Ababio, Nkwantakesehene, who is currently in charge of Kumasi in the absence of the Asantehene.
