Suspend Twifo-Atti Morkwa MP- Janet Nabla to Bagbin

The Chairperson of the People’s National Party (PNP), Janet Asana Nabla, has called for the suspension of the Member of Parliament for Twifo-Atti Morkwa Constituency, Theophilus VonDee.
It comes on the back of the lawmaker’s comments about the viral sexual misconduct allegations involving the Assistant Headmaster of the KNUST Senior High School and a female student.
In a letter to the Speaker of Parliament, Janet criticised the utterances as reckless and undermining.
“Mr Speaker, Parliament already recognises defilement as a serious crime under our laws. However, when a sitting legislator, sworn to uphold the dignity of this nation, chooses to defend or trivialise such despicable acts, it raises a fundamental question: is he himself above suspicion, or could he be guilty of similar offences within his own constituency?
“This warrants urgent police investigation, and as such, I respectfully petition you to suspend Hon. Theophilus VonDee from Parliament forthwith and release him to the appropriate authorities for a thorough probe.”
She further proposed the enactment of a new law to criminalise the defence or shielding of defilers by any public official or authority figure; Prescribe sanctions for leaders who use their office to normalise, excuse, or protect acts of defilement; and reinforce victim protection and amplify national education against defilement.
In addition, she urged female MPs to rise above party lines and collectively condemn the Honourable Member’s utterances.
“Silence in the face of such an affront to the dignity of our girls is complicity,” she emphasised.
