B/R: Reinforcement Police Team Deployed to Sampa

The Inspector-General of Police, Mr Christian Yohuno, has deployed a reinforcement team to Sampa in the Bono Region, according to the police service.

The town is battered with a Chieftaincy conflict.

The reinforcement teams is made up of officers from the SWAT and Formed Police Unit (FPU) will intensify patrols and beef up security in Sampa and surrounding communities, it announced in a statement.

Meanwhile, it said a high-powered delegation comprising some members of the Police Management Board (POMAB) have been sent to Sampa to assess the security situation and see to the welfare of operational officers deployed to the area.

They will also visit seven police officers who got injured during the renewed violence on October 3, 2025.

In addition, the team will engage relevant stakeholders within the region to find a lasting remedy to the lingering problem stoking conflict

Among them are police officers in the region, the Bono Regional Security Council (REGSEC), chiefs, opinion leaders, youth groups and other stakeholders at Sampa to ensure lasting peace in the area.
