Ghanaian Employees in Qatar to Receive Honourable Entitlements- Govt

The government of Ghana has announced enhanced remuneration and conditions of service for Ghanaians who will be exported to Qatar under the Labour Mobility Agreement.
The Agreement ratified by Parliament was described as “groundbreaking” by the Minister for Foreign Affairs, Samuel Okudzeto, in a Facebook post on Tuesday.
Under the agreement, Ghanaians employed in the various sectors of Qatar will enjoy what he called better salaries, accommodation, medical allowance, insurance and binding contracts.
“The ratified far-reaching Labour Mobility Agreement with Qatar under Article 75 of the 1992 Constitution of Ghana guarantees better and protected conditions of service for prospective Ghanaian workers in Qatar.”
Meanwhile, he reported that the approval of the estimated budget for his Ministry in the 2025 Budget will ensure prudent reforms.
Among them are “enhanced conditions of service for foreign service officers, transitioning from costly rentals to owning our diplomatic properties across the world, continuous modernisation and affordable passport administration and an overarching strategy to bolster Ghana’s international image are delivered with efficiency and integrity.”
