Ghana Prisons Service Declares 29-Year-Old Inmate Wanted After Escape

The Ghana Prisons Service has issued a public notice declaring a 29-year-old inmate, Peter Kyeremeh, wanted after he escaped from custody at the Duayaw-Nkwanta Prison.

In a “WANTED ESCAPEE” notice released by the Service, Kyeremeh was identified as a male prisoner serving a 5-year sentence in Immediate Hard Labour, IHL, for the offence of Unlawful Entry and Stealing.

According to the notice, the escapee is described as fair in complexion and slim. He was last seen wearing a prison-issued orange uniform.

The Ghana Prisons Service is urging members of the public to be on the lookout and to assist in his recapture.

“If Seen Or Captured Kindly Contact The Nearest Police Station, Any Prison Establishment Or Call 0506232978,” the Service stated.

Authorities have not provided details on how the escape occurred.

Investigations into the incident are expected to be underway.
