2022 International Women’s Day

The 2022 edition of the International Women’s Day (IWD) across the globe is themed “Equality today for sustainable tomorrow”, and flags the campaign “#BreaktheBias”.

This year, the aim is to create an equal world, a world free of bias, stereotypes, and discrimination, a world that’s diverse, equitable, and inclusive, and a world where difference is valued and celebrated.

The goal is to forge women’s equality.

Ghana’s Ministry of Gender Children and Social Protection (MoGCSP) indicated that this year’s theme seeks to recognise the importance of women and girls around the world who are leading the charge on climate change adaptation, mitigation, and response to build a more sustainable future for all.

Today, March 8, the MoGCSP is expected to hold a seminar at the Alisa Hotel in commemoration of the day.

International Women’s Day (IWD) is a commemorative event set aside by the United Nations globally to celebrate the economic, political, and social achievements of women on 8th March each year.
