Why Today Is Holiday For Schools
7th March, 2023 has been declared a holiday, the Ghana Education Service (GES) announced in a statement on March 6.
This adds up to the March 6 statutory holiday for all citizens.
It will however be enjoyed by only students across the country.
In its statement, the GES said, “it is announced for the information of all schools and the general public that Tuesday, 7th March 2023 has been declared as holiday for all school children in Ghana”.
The Service explained that the holiday is meant to give students enough room to rest from preparations toward the 66th Independence Day Celebration which was held across the country on Monday, March 6, 2023.
Schools will therefore resume on Wednesday, March 8.
“All parents and guardians are to take note”, it said and apologised for any inconvenience.
