“We Don’t Need Permit From Ghana Tourism Authority To Show Our Movies” – Kobi Rana

Ghanaian renowned movie producer and director, Kobby Rana has said they (movie producers) will fail to conform, correspond to the directives given by the Ghana Tourism Authority.
In a list of operational guidelines released by the Ghana Tourism Authority, for cinemas and theaters after announcing governments plan to ease restrictions, cinema and theater operators have been asked to apply for a permit before they will be allowed to open their doors.
In an interview with Mr. Derrick Black on the best entertainment show “Kumasefie”, on Opemsuo 104.7 a Kumasi based radio, movie producer and director Kobby Rana stated emphatically that writing to the Ghana Tourism Authority for permission is inappropriate and not the right way.
We do not need to seek their concerns before showing our movies to the public. We had operated 15 years before their existence and we will continue to show our movies to the public as we have done for the past 15 years, observing the Covid 19 protocols as done in other social gatherings.
