We Aren’t Recruiting Nurses- MoH
The Ministry of Health (MoH) has disputed media publications to the effect that recruitment of general nurses is underway across the country.
In a press statement on March 11, the Ministry urged the public to ignore the publications.
“It has come to the notice of the Ministry of Health that there is a public announcement dated 10th March 2024 in the mass media (print, electronic and new) about the recruitment of general nurses by the Ministry.”
It added, “We wish to state categorically that the Ministry did not make the public announcement in reference, and should therefore be ignored.”
It also cautioned prospective nurses against making any payment for recruitment, noting that recruitment and posting of health workers by the Ministry is free.
Meanwhile, it announced an enhanced process in the recruitment of health workers.
“We wish to inform the general public that the Ministry has made significant progress in the process of recruiting more general nurses and other health workers in the health sector.”
