We Are Up For Favourable Result Against Egypt- Hughton
After losing to Cape Verde in their first group game in the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament, the Black Stars will be looking for a win in their next game to keep their hopes alive.
Coach Chris Hughton has no lesser opinion on this and is determined to train his players, psyching them with what is at stake.
In a post-match press conference following their 2-1 loss against Cape Verde on Sunday in Abidjan, the Irish football manager said, “We have no choice but to make sure it’s a favourable result in our next game against Egypt.”
The game appeared to be heading into point-sharing after a leveller against Cape Verde in the 56th minute; however, the Black Stars failed to keep their ground creating a chance for the Blue Sharks to ride on the victory with an injury-time goal by Garry Rodrigues.
Ghana is at the bottom of the league log with zero points.
They will play against the Pharaohs of Egypt on Thursday, January 18 at the Stade Félix Houphouët Boigny.
Ghanaians were hopeful of advancing past the group stage after the Black Stars’ early exit in the 2021 tournament resulting from abysmal performance. However, their first game in the tournament is creating doubts.
Ghana has won the title four times with their last in 1982.
