Asanteman Mourns: GBA Mourns With Otumfuo
The Ghana Bar Association (GBA) has conveyed a message of condolence to His Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the King of the Asante Kingdom, over the passing of Nana Konadu Yiadom III, the Queen.
A delegation made up of Efua Ghartey, the National President, Victoria Osei-Bonsu Barth, Vice President, Kwaku Gyau Baffour, General Secretary and other executives expressed their sympathy.
“We heard the sad news about the passing of Asantehemaa. We joined the One Week Observation last week, and we are also aware of the burial arrangements.”
The GBA executives and members gathered with sympathizers nationwide to mourn with the Asantehene on August 28, 2025, at Manhyia Palace.
This is exactly a week after the One Week of the late Nana Konadu Yiadom III was observed.
Among the sympathisers were traditional authorities, Rev Dr Opuni Frimpong, a Lecturer at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Dr Gabriel Boakye, CEO of Anwiam Hospital, SIC Insurance PLC, MTN Ghana, Ashanti Regional Passport Office, Owabe Group and the Asante Students Union (ASU).
