Asanteman Mourns: MTN Ghana Mourns With The King

Telecommunication giant MTN Ghana has joined the Monarch of the Asante Kingdom, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, to mourn the passing of the Queen, Nana Konadu Yiadom III.

A delegation led by the Chief Corporate Services and Sustainability Officer, Adwoa Wiafe condoled with the King.

“We heard the passing of Asantehemaa, and I am here to represent our company to convey our heartfelt condolences.”

She announced donations of drinks and cash to support the upcoming burial rites.

“The leadership of our company is making elaborate preparations to pay their last respects during the solemn burial rites.”

The delegation from MTN was among sympathisers who visited the Manhyia Palace in Kumasi on August 28, 2025, to mourn with His Majesty.

This is exactly a week after the One Week of the late Nana Konadu Yiadom III was observed.

Others included traditional authorities, Rev Dr Opuni Frimpong, a Lecturer at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Dr Gabriel Boakye, CEO of Anwiam Hospital, SIC Insurance PLC, Ghana Bar Association (GBA), Ashanti Regional Passport Office, Owabe Group and the Asante Students Union (ASU).
