Mpox Death Rises As Ghana Records 565 Cases

Data from the Ghana Health Service (GHS) indicates that the number of Mpox infections continues to skyrocket across the country alongside the number of deaths.
With 10 newly confirmed cases, the country’s cases stand at 565.
The Service in a notice said one more death had been recorded, bringing the total number of deaths to two.
Meanwhile, two infected persons are on admission at an undisclosed health facility, receiving medical attention.
Mpox spreads mainly through close contact with someone who has the infection.
The GHS has since encouraged people to protect themselves by avoiding close contact with infected persons; washing hands often with soap and water; and avoiding regular touching of the eyes, nose and mouth.
It has also encouraged the members of the public to report to the nearest health facility when experiencing symptoms like fever, rash, headache, muscle aches, or swollen lymph nodes.
