E/R: Akukuso Mining Site Murder Suspect Nabbed

The police in the Eastern Region have arrested a man suspected of having a hand in a murder at an Akukuso mining site.

It is suspected that Awudu Mahama Medi murdered Sido Musah on May 31, 2025.

According to a police statement, a preliminary investigation at the crime scene led to the retrieval of one (1) empty shell casing and two (2) motorcycles.

They have since been retained for evidentiary purposes, it said.

“The suspect is currently in Police custody, assisting ongoing investigations.”

Meanwhile, it said efforts are underway to convey the body of the deceased to the Police Hospital Mortuary for autopsy and further forensic analysis.
