We’ve Not Agreed To Reduce DSTV Prices- MultiChoice Ghana

MultiChoice Ghana has disputed claims that it has agreed to reduce DSTV subscription prices.
It emphasised in a statement it’s commitment to reaching a mutually-beneficitial solution to the impasse through engagement.
“We continue to engage with the Minister in a bid to find an amicable solution that is beneficial for all parties involved but does not jeopardise the viability of the DStv service.”
“We will fully participate in the established Working Committee. However, we wish to clarify that MultiChoice Group has not agreed to a price reduction,” it added.
It comes after the Minister for Communications Technology and innovation, Hon. Samuel Nartey George, announced that the company had softened its stance over demand for a reduction in DSTV subscription fees.
He said the company had reached out leading to the constitution of a committee to determine the rate of reduction in 14 days.
Background
It may be recalled that the NCA requested the cost build-up for the various bouquet offers by MultiChoice Ghana and in seven other African countries on August 4, after it resisted a demand for a reduction.
Following a non-compliance with the request, it was lapped with a ยข10,000 daily fine which took effect on August 14.
