Daddy Lumba Inspired My New Song ‘Sikasem’ – Kweku Flick

Rapper and singer Kweku Flick has revealed that his latest single Sikasem was inspired by Ghanaian highlife legend Daddy Lumba.
According to him, the original title of the track was different, but he decided to rename it Sikasem after reflecting on Lumba’s classic hit Sika Asem. He explained that the veteran’s influence pushed him to shape the project in a way that connects with both old and new music lovers.
In a conversation with Opemsuo Radio’s Mac de President on Oseikrom Kwanso, he also hinted at the possibility of doing a remix of one of Daddy Lumba’s songs in the future as a way of paying homage to the icon.
Speaking on Lumba’s impact, the singer noted that Ghanaians have already celebrated the highlife legend extensively over the years, and while he believes the industry has done its part in honouring him, what remains is for fans and artistes to continue supporting his legacy through music.
With Sikasem now out, Kweku Flick hopes the track will resonate with listeners in the same way Lumba’s timeless classics have stood the test of time.
