State Housing Reports to Parliament on Implementation Status across 34 Classified Areas

The State Housing Company Limited (SHC) has presented a report on the status of implementation across 34 classified areas.

This came when officials of the company appeared before the Parliamentary Select Committee on Works and Housing.

At the meeting, SHC management disclosed that several key measures have been fully implemented.

It listed Procurement Threshold Compliance, Estates Regeneration, and Contract Agreements.

Management told the Committee that procurement decisions are now centrally approved to ensure strict adherence to thresholds and to strengthen internal controls.

On estates regeneration, the company confirmed that the redevelopment of old housing estates is currently ongoing.

It added that all contracts are now properly signed and witnessed, a step taken to enhance transparency and legal compliance in its operations.

Despite the progress, the company reported that some areas remain partially implemented, including Unsupported Balances and Timely Customer Feedback.

Management indicated that efforts are still underway to fully address them.

The SHC explained that it is working to reconcile outstanding balances in its financial records and to establish mechanisms for faster, more effective responses to customer concerns.

The presentation formed part of efforts to improve efficiency and accountability within the company.

The State Housing Company Limited is the state agency responsible for the development and management of government housing projects across the country.
