E/R: GNFS Rescues Three-Year-Old Boy From Drowning

Personnel of the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) have rescued a three-year-old boy from drowning during a community outreach exercise in Nkawkaw Kwamang.
The incident occurred on Thursday, July 16, 2026, when the Nkawkaw Fire Station Visibility Team spotted the child in distress in a stream near Access Pub and Restaurant.
The team was at the facility engaging the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Madam Asantewaa, when they noticed the boy and swiftly intervened to save his life.
The Ghana National Fire Service said the timely rescue underscores its commitment to protecting lives during emergencies and routine public engagements.
The Service, in a statement signed by the Public Relations Officer (PRO) for the Eastern Region, noted that the outreach formed part of ongoing efforts to engage communities on fire safety while remaining responsive to other emergencies.
No further injuries were reported.
