Salisu Bamba Backs Out Of Post
Municipal Chief Executive of Ejura-Sekyeredumase, Honourable Salisu Bamba has written to the Vetting Committee at the Presidency through the Ashanti Regional Minister to redraw his application for the position.
This comes after a social media activist was attacked by some unknown assailants leading to his untimely demise and subsequently led to a riot that claimed the lives of two others after the assertion that the MCE was behind the attack.
Investigations by the Police have proved otherwise.
Despite, Mr. Bamba in his letter said his decision is meant to institute peace in the Municipality.
“I arrived at this decision for the peace of the Municipality and the general unity and growth of the New Patriotic Party.”
“I have always worked in the service of my party and country, and it is in that spirit that I am withdrawing myself from the consideration.”
Honourable Salisu Bamba was the Member of Parliament for Ejura-Sekyeredumase Constituency from 2012 to 2016 but was voted out in the 2016 General Election.
He was subsequently appointed as the Municipal Chief Executive of the area in 2017.
Heading towards vetting to be reappointed as MCE for the second term, he has redrawn from the race.
