Rebecca Akufo-Addo Calls For Support For Prisons

First Lady Rebecca Akufo-Addo has implored the general public to provide support to Ghana’s prisons as a means of empowering them in the execution of their mandate.

According to the First lady, this will subsequently guarantee the safety of Ghanaians.

“Let us all support our prisons in executing their mandate of ensuring the safe custody, reformation, and re-integration of inmates to make them responsible, productive and law-abiding citizens, to ensure public safety.”

She made the public appeal in a Facebook post when she announced her foundation had visited the Nsawam Medium Security Prison’s Hospital and inmates to donate.

Mrs Akufo-Addo said the Rebecca Foundation gave out both medical supplies and food items.

“Yesterday, The Rebecca Foundation donated medical supplies to the Nsawam Medium Security Prison’s Hospital and food items to the inmates of the prison facility.”
