The Gospel Industry Is Pure Evil- Esther Smith

Ghanaian gospel artiste Esther Smith has spoken out about the harsh realities of the gospel music industry in Ghana, bluntly describing it as “pure evil”.

According to her, the industry is antagonistic against genuine members.

“Hmmm, this industry. You see, if you are genuine they will fight and deal with you until you give up… The industry is pure evil.”

In a post, she said these attacks can take aim at multiple aspects of one’s life, including relationships, financial stability, and physical health.

“It’s a long time ooo, sometimes they can work through your relationship, your financial, even your health, so if you know you know.”

However, from experience, she knows these forces can be countered only through persistent prayer.

“That is the reason why the Bible says we should pray without ceasing. There are a lot of evil things going around that if you pray hard, you can definitely see it. You don’t need a prophet to tell you this.”

The legendary musician was prompted to speak out about her own struggles after fellow artiste Cwesi Oteng publicly shared his challenges within the industry.

“Sorry my dear, keep on praying. God will come through for you if you are genuinely [sic] called. If I tell you what I went through and what I am going through, you will feel sorry for me but I know my redeemer lives.”
