Police Dismiss Allegations of Paper Leakage, Bribery in Promotion Exam as “Baseless”

The Ghana Police Service has strongly refuted allegations published in a recent edition of The Herald newspaper, which claimed that the Service’s latest promotion examination was marred by paper leakage and bribery.
In an official response issued today, the Police Service categorically described the allegations as “baseless and without merit,” urging the public to completely disregard them.
The statement noted that the promotion examination was not conducted internally but was instead administered by the University of Cape Coast (UCC), an institution the Police Service described as possessing a “high reputation with proven track record and integrity in administering such examinations.”
“The Service takes serious exception to these allegations,” the statement added, though it did not indicate whether any legal action would be taken against the newspaper.
The Police Service did not provide further details on the specific edition of The Herald or the exact nature of the claims, but reiterated its confidence in the fairness and credibility of the examination process.
Members of the public are advised to treat the story as false and rely only on official communications from the Police Service for accurate information regarding promotions and examinations.
