2026 WCQ: Black Stars Set to Leave For Chad Clash

All is set for the senior national team to leave for N’Djamena ahead of its World Cup qualifier against Chad on Thursday.

Although 12 players were available for training on Monday, a statement by the Ghana Football Association (GFA) stated that all 24 players will depart Ghana on September 2.

“The Black Stars will depart Accra for N’Djamena on Tuesday, September 2, for the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Chad. Ghana has been training in Accra for the crucial match, with Otto Addo set to travel with all 24 invited players.”

In N’Djamena on Wednesday, the team will hold another training session.

The Black Stars need a win to further solidify their grip on Group I, having won five matches and lost one in their six matches so far.

Ghana will face Chad at the Stade Olympique Maréchal Idriss Déby Itno at 1 pm on Thursday, September 4, 2025. Otto Addo’s team currently leads Group I with 15 points from six matches, keeping them well-positioned for a fifth World Cup appearance.

The Black Stars will wrap up their qualifiers against the Central African Republic and Comoros in October.
