Why Can Footballers Celebrate LGBTQ+ And Not Jesus? – Fined Player Asks

Nations FC winger, Emmanuel Annor, has questioned the rationale behind the football regulation that prohibits the expression of religious beliefs on the pitch.
It comes after he was fined Ghc500 for expressing his faith in Jesus following his goal against Asante Kotoko SC.
In a statement on May 13, the Disciplinary Committee of the Ghana Football Association said, “The player was found guilty of displaying a religious message on his undergarment after removing his shirt in celebration.”
It further warned him against repeating the same action.
“He has also been strongly warned that any further misconduct will result in severe sanctions.”
In a Facebook post on Wednesday, Annor questioned the objectivity of regulation.
“Why can football players celebrate LGBTQ+ sexuality but not their love for Jesus?”
Citing a scripture in the New Testament, he announced that he contributes to the work of the kingdom through his profession.
“Romans 14:8 – If we live, we live for the Lord, and if we die, we die for the Lord. So, whether we live or die, we belong to the Lord. ✟ It’s the kingdom work on the pitch!”
